YolTech Appoints Nitin Patel, BM BCh, as U.S. Chief Medical Officer
Extensive experience in clinical development and medical affairs across rare diseases, immunology, and cell and gene therapy
SHANGHAI – October 14, 2026 - YolTech Therapeutics, a late clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering next generation in vivo gene-editing therapies, announced the appointment of Nitin Patel, BM BCh as U.S. Chief Medical Officer, effective today. Dr. Patel will lead U.S. development strategy and oversee U.S. clinical operations across YolTech's pipeline of in vivo gene-editing programs.
"Dr. Patel is joining YolTech at a key inflection point as we advance multiple clinical programs into pivotal-stages, further de-risk our genome editing and LNP delivery platforms, and position the Company for several near-term, value-creating opportunities," said Yuxuan Wu, Ph.D., Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of YolTech Therapeutics. "His deep expertise spanning the full product lifecycle, from early-stage clinical development through late-stage programs, and his distinguished track record in cell and gene therapy, make him the ideal leader to guide our U.S. clinical strategy through our next stage of growth, including overseeing our seven clinical programs, three of which are entering pivotal Phase II/III studies."
Dr. Patel brings more than 18 years of experience in clinical development, medical affairs, and pharmacovigilance, with a focus on rare diseases, immunology, and cell and gene therapy at leading global biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. He most recently served as Interim Head of U.S. Clinical Development at Legend Biotech, where he built and led a team overseeing early-stage in vivo and late-stage programs, including multiple Phase 3 studies. He served as clinical lead across programs and played a key role in multiple U.S. and EU regulatory submissions. Previously, Dr. Patel held senior clinical development roles at GSK, including in early clinical development for T cell and gene therapy in oncology and late-stage rare disease programs using CD34+ stem cell gene therapy, and served as Medical Director for AAV gene therapy in rare diseases at Freeline. Earlier in his career, he held roles in medical affairs and pharmacovigilance at GSK, Novartis, and Johnson & Johnson. Dr. Patel is a GMC-registered physician with a CCT in Pharmaceutical Medicine. He earned a BM BCh from the University of Oxford and a BA and MA from the University of Cambridge.
"I am thrilled to be joining YolTech at such a defining moment for the Company and in the field of next generation in vivo gene editing," said Nitin Patel. "The combination of our pipeline, gene editing platform, and LNP delivery platform represents a compelling opportunity to translate rigorous science into meaningful outcomes for patients seeking more targeted and potentially curative, lifelong treatments. I look forward to working with the experienced team at YolTech to accelerate the delivery of these therapies to the patients and families who need them most."
